Guatemala has become a prized origin within the specialty coffee market. Aside from the quality that this country can outturn, Guatemalan coffees can typically be traced back to a precise Finca creating a greater transparency and opportunity for relationship trading. Tasting profiles can range dramatically from region to region due to the differing terroirs, which allows for these coffees to serve a multitude of purposes within a roaster’s lineup of offerings.

In the prolific coffee-growing region of Huehuetenango, Francisco Cardona Martin founded Finca la Colmenita. Since his purchase of this land in 2002, Francisco has been steadfast in his pursuit for nothing less than excellent, high quality coffee. Him and his family have invested nearly every dollar earned back into better developing the process from harvest to export.

The coffee that Onyx Importers has brought to us this turn of the season presents beautiful fruit notes of clementine, with a sweet praline nuttiness and a lingering dark chocolate finish.
